A simple spring order of operations
- Clear out leaves, debris and anything stored over winter
- Move furniture and planters off the surface where possible
- Have the hard surface cleaned — pavers, concrete or stone
- Clean adjacent fencing, railings and deck boards
- Finish with the glass facing the space
- Check drains and downspout outlets while everything is clear
Why timing helps
Booking the work before the first genuinely warm weekend means the space is ready when you want it, rather than three weeks later. Early spring is also when organic growth is easiest to remove, before it has a full season to establish.
Roof decks and terraces
Roof decks collect wind-blown grit all winter and are usually the hardest surface on the property to reach with equipment. If yours is on the list, mention it early and send a photo — access is the part that determines what's practical.
